How to Post on Social Media Consistently Without It Eating Your Week

Most small businesses don’t have a social media problem. They have a consistency problem. They post five times in a burst of motivation, then go quiet for six weeks. To a potential customer, that silence reads as “maybe they’re not around anymore.”

The fix isn’t posting more. It’s building a system so posting doesn’t depend on finding a spare moment of inspiration. Here’s the one I use.

1. Pick one or two platforms — not all of them

You do not need to be everywhere. Pick the one or two platforms where your customers actually are and do them well. Two consistent platforms beat five neglected ones.

2. Set a few “content pillars”

Decide on 3–4 themes you’ll rotate through, so you’re never staring at a blank screen. For a local business that might be:

  • Work you’ve done (before/afters, finished projects)
  • Tips your customers find useful
  • Behind-the-scenes / the people
  • Reviews and customer wins

3. Batch a whole month in one sitting

This is the part that changes everything. Instead of scrambling daily, block one or two hours, once a month, and create everything at once. You’re in the right headspace, you move faster, and the hard part is done.

4. Schedule it and forget it

Load your batch into a scheduler so posts go out automatically on the days and times you picked. Now “posting consistently” requires zero daily willpower.

5. Repurpose ruthlessly

One idea is a post, a short video, and a story. Don’t reinvent — reformat.

The honest part

The system works. The catch is that even a monthly batch is one more thing on a list that’s already full — and it’s usually the first thing to get skipped when a busy week hits.

That’s exactly what I take off owners’ plates: the strategy, the batching, the scheduling, the engagement — a consistent presence you don’t have to think about daily. If “post consistently” has been on your to-do list for months, book a free call and let’s just get it handled.
